World can’t live without conflicts. This data from World Bank contains world development from 1960 to 2015. I use SQL and Python to explain it. I also insert world issues that affected world development.

Firstly, import library and data.

To be simple, indicator columns containts this:

  1. Demography (Population, birth, death, fertility, mortality, expectancy)
  2. Trade (import, export, production, good, shipping, shipment)
  3. Health (birth, mortality, health care, doctors)
  4. Economy (GDP, GINI, income, debt, budget, market, stock, bond, infrastructure, debt)
  5. Energy (Electricity, Fuel, Power Consuption, Production, Emission)
  6. Education (literacy, youth)
  7. Employment (Employed, Unemployed)

Time to Explaratory Data Analysis (EDA). Yeaay!

Based on graph above, development world shrink since 2014. In that year, world was facing terrific issue, Russia — Ukraine conflict. This conflict caused annexation Rusia to Crimea, Ukraine. Because of that, the other countries had given two countries sanctions, from economy, social, and military development. Besides, Russia is one of the most country needed oil, but other countries can’t export to Russian Soviet Socialist Union (USSR). As the result, oil prices was falling down and was affecting world development.

Second issue was conflict in Middle East by Islamic States (IS/ISIS). Event this issue didn’t directly affect world development, conflict in this oil region made concern about possible disruptions pushed up oil prices.

Lastly, world was facing Ebola virus. Ebola virus came from Guinea, West Afrika. This pandemic can caused death for those affected. Based on World Health Organization report, more than 6,000 people had died from the outbreak out of more than 17,100 total cases. This pandemic already spreaded to Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, United Kingdom (UK), Spain, and United States (US).

How about Indonesia Development?

Because of that issues above, Indonesia was affected too. This plot indicates Indonesia development was shrinking since 2014.
